October 18, 2016
Turkish steel producers have filed new antidumping and countervailing duty petitions on hot-rolled coil imports from China, Russia and Ukraine.
An AD investigation was previously initiated in January 2015 on HRC imports from China, Japan, France, Russia, Ukraine, Romania and Slovakia in January 2015 but was terminated by the Turkish Economy Ministry after petitioners withdrew their complaint.
According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, HRC imports from the three named countries have increased this year. Imports from Russia were up 25 percent in the first half of 2016 to 790,075 tonnes as compared to the same period in 2015. Imports from Ukraine rose to 262,245 tonnes and HRC from China reached 20,285 tonnes.
