NLMK mill targeted in Ukrainian drone attack

Novolipetsk Steel’s (NLMK) mill in Lipetsk, Russia, was the target of a raid by Ukrainian drones on Sunday, according to a Reuters report.
The drone “attack achieved no results other than causing extra welding work,” Reuters reported a spokesperson for NLMK as saying.
While Kyiv hasn’t taken responsibility for the attack, it believes the NLMK mill is supplying Russia’s war effort and is therefore a justifiable target for Ukraine’s military, according to the report.
However, “NLMK denies cooperating with the defense ministry, saying that its Russian operations are not capable of producing military-grade heavy steels and it does not supply the military,” Reuters said.
NLMK did not return an SMU request for comment.
