Turkish scrap import prices were stable last week. CRU’s assessment for HMS1/2 80:20 and shredded was unchanged at $384 per metric ton (mt) CFR and $408/mt, respectively.
Scrap import activity slowed last week as Turkish mills have completed their recent restocking activity, keeping scrap import prices unchanged week over week (w/w). As domestic and export demand remain subdued, we have heard that Turkish scrap import activity is likely to remain sluggish.
