Steel 101 Workshop 3 Weeks Away: Join Us in Memphis, Tour Nucor

We are less than 3 weeks away from our LIVE Steel 101: An Introduction to Steelmaking and Market Fundamentals training course, to be hoested on Memphis, Tennessee on April 19-20.
The workshop will include a guided tour of the Nucor Hickman mill, just across the Mississippi River in Arkansas. Attendees will be able to see first hand all stages of production at this facility, which makes hot rolled, cold rolled and coated sheet steel.
This workshop offers a welcome return to the live classroom, so that you can network face-to-face with other attendees and enjoy relaxed discussions with the experienced instructors. Active rig counts stable in US and Canada
US drill rig activity saw a slight increase from last week but continues to hover near multi-year lows. In Canada, rig counts dipped last week but near one of the highest levels recorded in the past seven months.
Nucor (officially) holds plate prices steady again
Nucor said it would keep plate prices unchanged in a letter to customers on Wednesday. The Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker in addition said it was opening its November order book for plate. The company did not specify what its plate price was. It has officially kept prices flat since cutting them by $125 per short ton (st) on July 1.
