November Heating and Cooling Equipment Shipments

November heating and cooling equipment shipments came in at 1.45 million units, up 0.4 percent from the same month one year ago, according to recent data from the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI).
Residential and commercial storage water heater shipments rose 3.5 percent year over year to a combined 701,383 units; 684,329 units were shipped for residential use and 17,054 units for commercial use.
Shipments of warm air furnaces totaled 288,798 units in November, down 8.6 percent compared to the same month last year. This is the fifth consecutive month warm air furnace shipments have decreased on a year-over-year basis.
Central air conditioners and air-source heat pump shipments rose 2.1 percent over a year ago to 460,002 total units; 267,994 air conditioners and 192,008 heat pumps were shipped. This is the fifth consecutive month air conditioners and air-source heat pump shipments have increased on a year-over-year basis.
