Australia Reviewing Antidumping Duties on Zinc-Aluminum Steels from China
Written by Sandy Williams
September 14, 2016
Australia has initiated a review of antidumping measures on imports of Aluminum Zinc Coated Steel from China. Jiangyin Zongcheng Steel Co. and Angang Steel Co. applied to the Antidumping Commission to review the import duties assessed on August 5, 2013. Angang Steel currently has AD duties of 5.8 percent and Jiangyin 18.1 percent.
The review will determine if factors determining the antidumping measures have changed and will cover the period July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016. Depending on the results of the inquiry, the duties will remain unaltered, changed or revoked. The respondents have until October 6, 2016 to request an extension of the review to include revocation.
The investigation covers flat rolled products of iron and non–alloy steel of width equal to or greater than 600mm, plated or coated with aluminum-zinc alloys, not painted whether or not including resin coating. Aluminum-zinc coated steel is called Galvalume in the U.S.
The review is expected to conclude by February 1, 2017.
