Nucor Corp. has promoted Thomas J. Batterbee to the position EVP of human resources and talent, and appointed Elizabeth Bledsoe to the newly created position of president of human resources and talent.
The roles become effective May 11. Both Batterbee and Bledsoe “will focus on Nucor’s enterprise talent development and human resources strategy,” the company said in a statement on Thursday.
Batterbee joined Nucor in 1989. He has been president of Nucor’s Vulcraft/Verco Group since 2023, which produces open web steel joists, joist girders, steel deck, and steel bar grating.
Bledsoe most recently served as SVP of human resources and chief people officer for MSC Industrial Direct Co. Inc. It is a Melville, N.Y.-based distributor of metalworking and maintenance, repair, and operations products and services.
“Tom is an exceptional leader whose passion for our teammates and more than 35 years of experience with Nucor have positioned him well to take on this new responsibility,” Nucor chair, president, and CEO Leon Topalian said in the statement.
“Beth brings a wealth of experience in human resources and talent development and will be a great addition to our leadership team,” he added.
