Olympic Steel taps Harbert for general manager role

Olympic Steel Inc. has promoted Brant Harbert to general manager for the company’s three facilities in Bedford Heights and Dover, Ohio.
The Cleveland-based national service center chain said Harbert’s predecessor, Kevin Miller, has been promoted to a new leadership role within the company.
Harbert joined Olympic in 2014 as an inside sales representative at its Bedford Heights and Dover facilities. His most recent role was as regional sales manager.
He will now be responsible for the daily operations and growth of Olympic’s Bedford Heights and Dover facilities. These include one of the company’s three temper mills.
“In the decade Brant has been with Olympic Steel, he has had a significant impact on our growth in the region, and we’re proud to recognize his contributions to the company and his continued advancement within the organization,” David J. Gea, president of carbon flat rolled, said in a statement on Friday.
Harbert will report to Andrew Wolfort, VP of specialty metals.
Olympic said, “Wolfort also oversees Olympic Steel’s temper mill facility located in Gary, Ind, which will allow the company to further align growth efforts for temper passed product in the region.”
