Miami Valley Steel Service will be changing some nameplates.
The Piqua, Ohio-based service center announced the retirement of CFO Jill Kindell, effective Dec. 31.
Kindell joined the company in 1991 as controller. In 2012, she was promoted to CFO. Over her 33 years with the company, she played a “pivotal role in developing and maintaining the financial systems that have supported MVSS through tremendous growth and transformation,” the company said.
“We cannot overstate Jill’s contributions to MVSS,” said CEO Nick Straka. “Her leadership has been instrumental in our success, and she has set a high standard for excellence in everything she does.”
On Jan. 1, Controller Lee Kindell will take over as VP of finance. He joined the company in 2022 after seven years in public accounting.
“Jill’s legacy at MVSS is irreplaceable, but I am extremely confident in Lee’s ability to build on her outstanding work and put his mark on the business as we continue to push forward,” said Straka.
In addition, the company announced the retirement of Len Stahl, effective Dec. 31. Stahl has been with Miami Valley since 1994 and has served as an account manager, inside sales manager, sales manager, and, since 2013, VP of sales.
He will be succeeded by Mike Sora, who has been with the company for 24 years, serving in various sales management roles. In addition, Ken Long will assume the role of sales manager, and Jon Freeborn will take over as inside sales manager.
“Len’s transformative leadership has been a cornerstone of MVSS’s success and culture,” Straka said. “His ability to inspire and develop his team while delivering exceptional results for our customers is unmatched.”
