Gerdau Long Steel North America completed its previously announced acquisition of Dales Recycling Partnership, a Tennessee-based operator and processor of ferrous and nonferrous scrap, on Nov. 1.
In late September, Sao Paulo, Brazil-based longs producer Gerdau SA said that its US subsidiary had signed a pact to buy the land, inventory, and fixed assets of Dale’s operations for $60 million.
The company said on Nov. 4 that all precedent conditions had been fulfilled and the deal had gone through.
As previously reported, the buy includes seven recycling centers in Tennessee, one in Kentucky, and one in Missouri.
Gerdau Long Steel North America, previously known as Gerdau Ameristeel, is a Tampa, Fla.-based longs steel producer and metals recycler. The company makes various steel products, which include merchant bar, rebar, structural steel, piling, and wide-flange beams.
