Boyd Metals Expands Little Rock Facility

Arkansas-based metals processor Boyd Metals is expanding its footprint at its Little Rock, Ark., facility.
The expansion will add 40,500 square feet to Boyd Metals’ Port of Little Rock operations, according to a statement released by the Arkansas Economic Development Commission on Wednesday. An additional 20 jobs are expected to be created.
“Boyd Metals opened our Little Rock, Ark., location in 2006, and expanding our footprint shows a commitment to both our employees and our customer base,” Brian Newman, president of Boyd Metals, said in the statement.
Toronto-based distributor, Russel Metals completed the acquisition of Boyd Metals in December 2021 for $110 million.
Since its inception in 2006, the full-line steel service center expanded its facilities twice: once in 2009, and again in 2015.
Currently Boyd offers carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, fiberglass, red metal, PVF, and other industrial products. The company’s in-house processing capabilities include laser cutting, sawing, shearing, flame cutting, plasma cutting, bar polishing, and sheet bending.
“We are happy to be a staple in the Little Rock community and this investment enhances our reputation as the leading metal supplier in the region,” Newman said.
Boyd Metals has operations in Fort Smith, Ark; Little Rock; Joplin, Mo.; Oklahoma City; and Tyler, Texas.
