Lapham-Hickey Acquires SMC Metal Fabricators

Lapham-Hickey Steel has acquired SMC Metal Fabricators of Oshkosh, Wisc., for an undisclosed sum.

SMC operates a 115,000-square-foot facility adjacent to two Lapham-Hickey facilities in Oshkosh. Its facility, previously owned by the Albright family for nearly three decades, hosts laser cutting, forming, welding, powder coating, and assembly services.

SMC’s products and services “will enhance our existing fabrication services in Wisconsin. Our combined production platforms will allow us to better service both Lapham-Hickey and SMC customers throughout the Midwest,” according to Lapham-Hickey president Brian Hickey.

Lapham-Hickey Steel is a fourth-generation family-owned carbon steel service center headquartered in Bedford Park, Ill., with approximately 11 locations throughout the Midwest, East Coast, and Southeast, supplying a range of slit coil, sheet, plate, bars, tubing, and fabricated products.
