2022 Tampa Steel Conference Update
Registrations continue to grow for the 2022 Tampa Steel Conference which is just four weeks away (Feb. 14-16). It is looking like this will be the best-attended Tampa Steel Conference in many years, if not in the entire history. We are seeing a wide range of companies deciding to attend this year. This includes manufacturing companies, steel distributors, steel mills, port facilities and warehousing, logistics companies, trading companies and suppliers to those industries. You can learn more about our program by clicking here or going to www.tampasteelconference.com

SMU and CRU are aware of emails from third parties claiming to have the delegate list for this conference for sale. Please note, such emails are not authorized by SMU or CRU. We take safeguarding your data extremely seriously and we never sell our delegate lists. Our data security is highly robust and in-line with industry standards. If you receive an email asking if you want to buy the delegate list, we advise you delete the email and block the sender. If you have any additional concerns, please contact us at conferences@crugroup.com.
Please be advised that the Marriott Water Street Hotel is sold out during our conference. There are several hotels located close by that include the JW Marriott Water Street, which is a brand new 5-star hotel. Other hotels for you to consider include the Embassy Suites Hotel by Hilton, which is located across the street from the Marriott Water Street Hotel. Here are some other hotels you might want to consider: The Westin Tampa Waterside, Hilton Downtown Tampa, Sheraton Riverwalk Hotel, Hyatt House Downtown Tampa and the Hampton Inn Tampa Downtown (Ybor City). Be aware the Marriott Water Street Hotel is located on the trolley line, so there are other options available in other parts of the greater Tampa area.
Regarding hotel reservations be aware that CRU/SMU has not, and would never, appoint an agency to handle hotel bedroom sales on our behalf. We block a number of rooms for our event, which you can directly book via a special weblink at a preferred conference rate that will be sent to you once you have registered. If you are approached by a company called Convention Housing Services or Exhibition Housing Services, or EHRS, or emailed by Global Housing Services (GHSCO) for bedroom bookings – these companies are NOT recommended by CRU – we strongly advise that you do NOT book any rooms with them. They cannot guarantee your booking and may charge you with additional fees that make them more expensive than they pretend to be.

SMU Steel Summit Conference – Aug. 22-24, 2022
Registration is now open for the 2022 SMU Steel Summit Conference which will once again be held at the Georgia International Convention Center in Atlanta. This conference is the largest steel event of its kind in the Western Hemisphere. We are anticipating 1,200-1,500 executives will attend this live event on Aug. 22-24. We are already working on procuring the cream of the crop speakers as we once again will be providing an interesting and educational program for the industry. Returning to our stage will be Alan Beaulieu of ITR Economics, Mark Millett of Steel Dynamics (and many other mill CEOs), and we are adding new faces as well. You can learn more about the conference and register by clicking here. We will be providing more information regarding our program after we have concluded the Tampa Steel Conference.
