June 3rd Community Chat to Feature Trade Attorney Lewis Leibowitz

Written by John Packard

Trade attorney Lewis Leibowitz will be the featured speaker at 11 a.m. ET on Wednesday, June 3, for the next SMU Community Chat webinar. The 45-minute webinar is free and open to all interested in the topic of free and fair trade.

A regular contributor to Steel Market Update, Leibowitz is an expert on government regulation and international trade. He’ll be ready to answer listeners’ questions on the Section 232 tariffs and the controversial exclusion process, trade with China, the impact of the new USMCA agreement, and the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic on the global economy and international relations, among other topics.

The pandemic has taken trade off the front page of the news, but for steel buyers the issues surrounding trade policy continue to impact their businesses. Leibowitz will update us on the status of antiumping and countervailing duties, which have been in place now for a number of years on flat rolled and plate products.

John Packard, President and CEO of Steel Market Update, will moderate the conversation with one of Washington’s leading voices on trade.
