Imperial Acquires Pointe-Claire/Green Valley Steel

Canada’s Imperial Manufacturing Group has acquired Pointe-Claire/Green Valley Steel Group, Inc., a steel service center headquartered in Hamilton, Ontario, with facilities in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, and Bolton, Ontario. Imperial Manufacturing, based in Richibucto, New Brunswick, is a conglomerate of businesses centered around the HVAC and building products industries.
“After working on this agreement for quite some time now, I am proud to say that it has finally come to fruition,” said Normand Caissie, CEO of Imperial Manufacturing Group. “Despite the effects brought on by the recent global COVID-19 pandemic, we still anticipate good demand for our products in both the residential and commercial markets. Pointe-Claire/Green Valley Steel Group now provides us an ability to improve our supply chain and to better service our customers.”
Pointe-Claire/Green Valley Steel Group has been serving clients for over 50 years and added Green Valley Steel to its portfolio in 2014. The company will now operate under the name Pointe-Claire Steel, a member of Imperial Manufacturing Group.
“The synergies brought on by this acquisition, from steel purchases to toll processing, are motivating for both organizations,” said Omer Babineau, Pointe-Claire Steel’s new president. “The opportunities of joining such well-established and reputable companies are numerous.”
Imperial Manufacturing Group customers will now have the ability to purchase coils, galvanized sheets, and other flat stock products directly from Pointe-Claire Steel.
“The acquisition of Pointe-Claire/Green Valley Steel Group supports our corporate strategy to continue to grow our business and creates vertical integration within our organization,” added Bradley Spencer, Imperial Manufacturing Group’s president and COO. “We believe this will strengthen both businesses and will provide advantages to both of its customer bases.”
Pointe-Claire/Green Valley Steel offers warehousing, slitting, leveling, and cut-to-length of flat rolled steel products.
