Strengthening its position as a supplier of high-value-added metals to the aerospace sector, Toronto-based Samuel, Son & Co. has acquired Metal Spinners Holdings.
Metal Spinners will operate as a separate group within Samuel’s manufacturing division. The group will include Missouri Metals of St. Louis, Mo., and Metal Spinners’ production facilities in Angola, Ind., Rock Falls, Ill., and Saginaw, Texas.
Missouri Metals manufactures precision components and assemblies for both the aerospace and power generation industries. Metal Spinners supplies metal spinning, hydroforming, deep drawing and other specialized metal formed products for air handling, energy, agriculture and other industrial market segments.
Samuel Manufacturing President Rod Crawford said the acquisition represents a further step in Samuel’s growth strategy for the aerospace market. “With this acquisition, Samuel is broadening our metal-forming capabilities, and is positioning both Missouri Metals and Metal Spinners for significant growth by leveraging our extensive customer relationships in key targeted markets, such as aerospace.”
Metal Spinners Holdings CEO Olin Wiland will remain as Group President for the business. “We are recognized as valuable business partners to our customers, including many of the major aerospace and industry leading OEMs around the world. Joining forces with Samuel allows both Metal Spinners and Missouri Metals to leverage Samuel’s commercial organization, culture and sales network for incredible growth opportunities,” Wiland said.
Samuel, Son & Co. is a family-owned and operated network of metal manufacturing, processing and distribution divisions with more than 100 facilities and 4,800 employees.
