NLMK USA Sales Increase in 2013

NLMK USA sales for 2013 jumped 3.7 percent to 1.8 million tonnes of steel (1.98 million tons), up from 1.74 million tonnes (1.9 million tons) in 2012. Sales were driven by improved demand by service centers, pipe manufacturers, construction and automotive.
Fourth quarter 2013 steel production at NLMK Indiana totaled 164,000 tonnes (180,776 tons), down 6.9 percent q/q, with sales of 449,000 tonnes (494,929 tons). Hot rolled sales were down 10.9 percent while cold rolled and galvanized were up by 12.4 percent and 22.5 percent, respectively. Parent company Novolipetsk provided 210,000 tonnes of slabs (231,481 tons) to NLMK USA in fourth quarter.
