John Maxson New CEO at Genzink Steel

Genzink Steel, located in Holland, Mich., has promoted John Maxson to chief executive officer. Maxson has served as chief operating officer of the Genzink family-owned company for the past ten years. The announcement was made by Board Chairman Ken Genzink, son of founder Donald Genzink.
Maxson said the company will focus on developing more rigorous capabilities in welding and documentation for the mining and oil and gas industries.
Maxson worked at structural steel company in Midland before joining Genzink in 2003. Previous to that, he co-founded Zovmax, a manufacturer of plastic injection molds used by GM, Ford and Dow Chemical. The first half of his 40 year career he worked at firms supplying the auto industry.
Genzink Steel is a fabricator of steel products for equipment manufacturers of heavy equipment for oil and gas, mining, rail, energy and defense industries. The company celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2011 and employs more than 140 people at its 138,000 square foot facility in Holland, Mich.
