Severstal NA Production at 3.8 Million Tons During 3Q

Severstal NA reported sales of 1.2 million tonnes (1.32 million tons) of rolled products in the third quarter, a 2 percent increase over second quarter.
Hot rolled coil and plate production decreased 2 percent to 642,729 tonnes (708,475 million tons) as compared to 656,574 tonnes (723,736 million tons) in the second quarter. Sales price for rolled products averaged $800/tonne in the third quarter, up from $787/tonnes the previous quarter.
Steel production for the first nine months of 2013 totaled 3.48 million tonnes (3.8 million tons), essentially unchanged from levels in the first nine months of 2012.
Steel capacity rates for SNA were at 96 percent for the third quarter and 95 percent for the first nine months of 2013.
Total crude steel production for OAO Severstal remained steady at 40 million metric tonnes (44 million net tons).
