Steel 101: Introduction to Steelmaking & Market Fundamentals

Steel Market Update next workshop will be our Steel 101: Introduction to Steelmaking & Market Fundamentals. The workshop will be held in Blytheville, Arkansas on October 8th and 9th and will include a tour of the Nucor Hickman flat rolled mini-mill.
The workshop is intended for those who are relatively new to the industry, those who would like to gain a deeper understanding of the steelmaking process (both flat and long products) as well as an appreciation of some of the key market fundamentals which drive steel prices. Past attendees include sales and purchasing professionals (both new and experienced), inside support staff, logistics and operations people as well as executives either changing positions or looking for a refresher course.

Domestic CRC prices edge up, import tags mixed
The price spread between US-produced cold-rolled (CR) coil and offshore products on a landed basis widened slightly in the week ended Nov. 22.
